One good reason to read
Love Anthony is to experience the impact autism has on family life. The
story takes place on Cape Cod where two women, whose lives have fallen apart,
meet. One, a mother of an autistic son who has died at age 5, and the other who
turns to writing as her marriage fails. The writer becomes obsessed
with capturing the inner experience of an autistic child, giving projected
meaning to the repetitive movements associated with autism. It is a beautiful
volume, filled with compassion, written by Lisa Genova (Still Alice and
Left Neglected). (Simon & Schuster,2013.pap$16)
